axi0mX, Checkm8 and Checkra1n Jailbreak
This is the shiny new stars among the jailbreak community these days. Developer and hacker, axi0mX has turned a new page in jailbreak history.
He has found a jailbreak exploit which can bypass the core of the hardware system of an iPhone. So this does not have any relationship with the Apple’s Operating system — iOS. He has named this as Checkm8 jailbreak exploit.
Basically , Checkm8 means that no any software update (iOS update) can patch the said jailbreak. Nothing can change the jailbreak status and in other words it is inevitable, unpatchable and permanent. Some introduces this as “Permanent jailbreak” because of this steadiness.
After this announcement of checkm8 jailbreak exploit, many jailbreak developers such as Siguza, pshycotea, qwertyoruiop and some others were volunteered themselves in helping axi0mX in his findings. As a result of this, they managed to announce the birth of Checkra1n Jailbreak.
Checkra1n Jailbreak is a jailbreak method developed based on the checkm8 exploit. Until this moment, the developers are quite busy behind the scenes with the developments of a jailbreak tool with checkra1n.
Checkra1n jailbreak is still compatible for A4 — A11 devices. That means the latest devices (iPhone XS Max range and iPhone 11 range) won’t be compatible yet. It cannot predictable that those will be compatible sooner as the technologies are far more different.
Still no any public jailbreak cheakra1n tool has not been released, but it is quite sure that there will be a public release sooner. There are some softwares developed based on the findings of checkm8 and checkra1n. ipwndfu, axi0mX installer etc are some of those.
ipwndfu is an Open-source jailbreaking tool for many iOS devices. This tool can use for Jailbreak and downgrade iPhone 3GS (new bootrom) with alloc8 untethered bootrom exploit.

axi0mX installer is a code based jailbreak installer. This does provide the latest jailbreak tools. For now, since checkra1n jailbreak is under development, they have provided some alternatives you may use until a firm release of checkra1n.
